    Greetings,

Please, what do you call a ‘language family’ in Persian?

    My sentence for translation:
Welsh and Persian are interrelated – they are members of the same language family

    My tuppenceworth (in Colloquial Persian):
ولزی و فارسی به هم پیوسته‌ست – هر دو عضو همین خانوادۀ زبانیه.
Please could you make any necessary corrections?

    Best wishes, and many thanks,

    Simon

پیوند هایی بین ولزی و فارسی وجود دارد.هر دو عضو یک خانواده ی زبانی هستند(I prefer to express this sort of things in formal Persian!)

For a propper translation: Dear Simon, what do you mean by 'interrelation' ? it seems you didn't mean the similarities of a sub-family of languages or ties between each member of IE languages.

My home ;-) /The Persian Gulf
    Farsi/Persian/فارسي
    My effort:
ولزي و فارسي مشتركاتي/اشتراك‌هايي با هم دارند و هر دو از يك تيره‌ي/خانواده‌ي زباني هستند
ولزي و فارسي به هم پيوسته‌اند و هر دو هم خانواده‌اند

ولزي و فارسي با يكديگر مرتبطند و هر دو ريشه‌ي يكساني دارند

    To searcher123:
Thank you so much, excellent examples as ever.

    To darush:
    Many thanks.
interrelated = related to one another, so I am indeed referring to what you correctly term the similarities of a sub-family of languages or ties between each member of IE languages.
