    Bonjour,

Je suis en train de traduire un menu en anglais.

Comment dire 'Pièce du boucher sauce poivre vert' en anglais?

Butcher's meat in a green pepper sauce?

I think I would say "butcher's cut" rather than the "butcher's meat"

    Or butcher's choice?
Butcher's meat definitely does not sound appealing!

butcher's choice cut with green peppercorn sauce

(green pepper sauce would be sauce aux poivrons verts)

Wildan's suggestion is more concise, but I think green pepper sauce is also correct in this context […]

I can see the possibility within context, but I do think on a menu green pepper is going to suggest poivron more frequently than poivre

I agree that "green pepper" would tend to be understood to be "poivron vert", so for a "sauce poivre vert" I would go unhesitatingly for "green peppercorn sauce". Furthermore, the leading hits all refer to "green peppercorn sauce" and not "green pepper sauce" if you feed into Google the words: green pepper sauce steak

J'aimerais bien avoir la confirmation d'un francophone que "Pièce du boucher" est simplement le choix du boucher et pas un morceaux de viande précis !

La pièce du boucher is not a specific cut of meat. It designs a choice cut, specifically selected by the butcher. :)

Maybe "butcher's selection with green peppercorn sauce"?

Why not just forget the butcher and go for the generic term for what this is? STEAK
    (with green peppercorn sauce).

Because in both contexts (the one of the first question, and the one mentioned by Squiggle) the French adds a precision as to the quality of the meat ;)
