Estoy realizando la traduccion de un contrato. Me quedé estancada en esta frase:

SMI is entitled to notify the third party debtors of the pledge in its discretion an, in case of a default by Distributor..

Entiendo que puede ser un compromiso a discresion? Hay algun término legal.

    Espero sus comentarios

That sentence sounds a little unusual. Could "in its discretion" be another way of saying "at its discretion"?
If so it might be something like, "Queda a discreción de SMI notificar a los deudores terceros de la prenda..."

The text provided is ambiguous as to what is in the discretion of SMI. Is it the pledge or the giving of notice? Perhaps more context would clarify.

I would say: "del compromiso a su discrecion".

It definitely looks like it means "at its discretion."
