Is pre-algebra a common course in Spanish speaking countries?

If so, how is it commonly titled in Spanish? If not, what's the best way to phrase that?

Isabel, it's always better when you include context information. Our native speakers of Spanish may know the equivalent course in Spanish, but may not understand the exact meaning and context of the phrase you're translating.
I'm not sure how to translate it, though.

    Hi,

I am afraid we are not so specific here. At school, we just call this subjects "Maths". It doesn´t matter what pupils are learning, geometry, trigonometry, algebra, etc. Regarding to the explanation provided by Fenixpollo (hi, mate:)) I would say "Introducción al Álgrebra", but wait for some more opinions.

    Cheers.
