precedente giudiziario

    Hello everyone!

    I need to translate, in a juridical context, the word "precedente giudiziario".

    the statement is:
    " il precedente giudiziario non è mai vincolante. il magistrato non è obbligato, a norma di legge, a rispettare il precedente (giudiziario) espresso dalle Corti d'appello o dalla Cassazione"

    and my work was:

    "the precedente giudiziario is never a bond. the judge is not obliged, by law, to respect the precedente giudiziario mentioned by the Court of Appeal or the Court of Cassation."
