    Hi,
Can you please help me translate this sentence; '' meno di un trentesimo dell'Atlantico propriamente inteso''. What does ''inteso'' stand for here?
    Thanks

    Hello,
The context is about the Mediterranean sea. My attempt at translation was '' The Mediterranean sea has an extension definitely significant, but compared to the complete surface marine of the earth, it represents a small proportion; less than thirtieth of Atlantic .....'' What does '' propriamente inteso'' mean?

    Thanks!
