Necesito clarificar la deferencia enter "pudor" y vergüenza". ¿Alguien me puede ayudar?

Muchas gracias. Entonces, in English one could say that vergüenza is nearer to embarrasment and pudor is nearer to modesty or shyness?

I did consult the dictionary before posting the question - the fact that there is some confusion between the words is the reason for my post. It still remains unclear to me. Can anyone give an example of usage which differentiates the two words? La oratoría me da vergüenza o Tengo pudor hablar en público, for examples.
