I would like to know if there is any difference when you use rainforest and rain forest and if so, what it is. Or does it depend on the writer to put itas one word or two?

    Thanks

Ilogica, it might be a good idea to check dictionaries. Our WR dictionary is not bad:

    Rainforest: one word.

If you force Google to search for "rain forest," you will see a huge number of hits, but I would dismiss them as the efforts of people who didn't know better.

I suppose it's debatable if it's part of a proper name, however.
