Receipt or reception?

    "Paul: could you please confirm the receipt/reception of my e-mail?"

    Which one is correct? Or are both acceptable?

    Hi Sextus,
    In AE it would be 'receipt'. Reception would not be used in this context.

    'Receipt' sounds better to me also.

    Ok. I just asked because my MacMillan dictionary says that it can be used that way.
