Comment pourrais-je traduire "repli sur soi" dans la phrase suivante :

L'autisme est avant tout caractérisé par un "repli sur soi".

    Merci

I think to go into one's shell is a better translation

I was wondering how to translate "La force des traditions et la tentation d'un repli sur soi de certains musulmans. . ." I have "The strength of traditions and temptation. . " But I can't figure out the rest of it.

Okay, thanks. Would that still work with the whole sentence? TO give some more context the whole sentence goes "The strength of traditions and temptation ____________________________ does not have to mask the immense majority of french Muslims who live their religion in peace and in harmony and with respect for the republic." I think it is about how the actions of a small group shouldn't mask what the majority does.

Thank you Already-Seen, that really helped! Would it make sense to say "The strength of tradition and the temptation of a few Muslims to withdraw into oneself does not have to mask the immense majority who live their religion in peace and in harmony and with respect for the Republic." ? Should I put the bloded part after the underlined part?

    Bonjour cor

I think what it really means is ' ... the temptation of some Muslims to isolate themselves from the community'
