What's the Japanese for roasted goose? Is it 焼きがちょう？
Thanks in advance.
I suppose it is ローストグース.
No custom to eat roasted goose and no word for it. Then you can use any word.
焼きがちょう doesn't seem wrong.
I think of another term for it, which may be more idiomatic -- がちょうの丸焼き. Having said that, the term seems to mean the processing method of the food and not the food itself. Is there such a thing like 丸焼きのがちょう？
がちょうの丸焼き sounds legit. But if it is a name on a menu at a restaurant, it would be written as "がちょうのロースト". It matters where you are planning to use the word.
Although がちょうの丸焼き seems to focus an action, similar methods are normally used to focus food itself.
For example, かつおのたたき, うなぎのかば焼き, 大根の煮つけ, etc...
By the way, "丸焼き" means that you roast a animal uncut holding whose shape, you know?
If you intend it, the word just fits.
Thanks again polo111, for your confirmation.
Separate names with a comma.
