schéma de fonctionnement

    I am using Visio(R) to draw pictures to explain some IT workflow ..

    I would like to put a title atop of the drawing which would be in French "schéma de fonctionnement"

    How should I translate this nicely into English ?

    Je dirais : "operation scheme", mais je n'en suis pas certain, attendez la réponse de quelqu'un d'autre.

    I think you can call it a functional diagram. I'm not an IT expert, though.

    La dictionnaire sur ce site propose "block diagram" pour "schéma fonctionnel". C'est ça?

    "block diagram" renvoie spécifiquement à un schéma où l'ensemble de la système est décomposé en morceaux, chaq'un expliqué dans sa propre rectangle (peut-on dire boîte?). S'il y a des flèches entre les boites, on dirait "flow chart" or "flow diagram".

    Vous pouves décrire comment est le schéma?

    Ooos I had a bit forgotten about this topic, let's get back on it ..

    The diagram I've drawn explains how a program works: I got various items like the server, the database, the workstations and the relations between them as far as the program is concerned.

    Thus "flow diagram" sounds good ..
