    Hello there!

In Italian we have this very typical expression: sciogliersi da un abbraccio, where 'sciogliersi' is for 'disentangle' from an embrace.

I need to find the right translation in English and I feel it can't be "They loosened themselves from the embrace" or "They let go of each other".

Quando si sciolsero dall'abbraccio, si guardarono ancora negli occhi.

When they loosened their embrace , they looked in each other's eyes.

    Can you please help?

  2. When they relaxed/broke off/(let go of)/released their embrace,

    Hi Alabama! Thanks!

Is it "When they released their embrace", then? Does it sound romantic?
  4. Not that I read that kind of novel, but it seems fine to me.

Probabilmente è già stato detto che si erano abbracciati. Quindi:

When they drew apart, they still looked into each other's eyes.
