    Hola! Como se traduce esto?:

    Los delitos públicos son aquellos que se persiguen 'de oficio', esto es, por las propias autoridades.

    My try: Public offenses are those which ------ '---', that is, by the proper authorities.

    se persiguen -> are tried

    De oficio:
    2. loc. adj. Der. Se dice de las diligencias que se practican judicialmente sin instancia de parte, y de las costas que, según lo sentenciado, nadie debe pagar. U. t. c. loc. adv.

    So, I would say "criminal court/trial" (as opposed to "civil court/trial")

    Public offenses are those which are tried in a criminal court', that is, by the proper authorities
