    What's the difference between those two words in meaning and use?

    “Niečo”, “dačo”, “voľačo” and “čosi” are practically interchangeable. “Niečo” is definitely the basic word for “something”.

    I would say (really just a feeling) the difference goes like this:

    niečo = something
    dačo = something concrete
    voľačo = something at free will, something at random
    čosi = something or else, something unknown

    The difference could be different for using as intensifiers.
