    Hi, this is my first time here.
    I'm trying to study some slovak on my own so a little help would be really appreciated.
    I have translated this simple sentences, but I'm not sure if they are correct, since I'm not sure how to declinate the adjectives:

    -Grandmother isn't bad
    Starà mama nieje zlà

    Hope somebody can help me,
    thank you!!!

    Just notice maybe it will help you.

    is not = nie je
    isn't = nie je
    Slovak language does not know this abbreviation.

    What about colloquial "neni", ?

    It's not standard Slovak.

    Without googling I think that it is either a borrowing from Czech or it was evolved along with the Czech "není". If the second is true, I would not hesitate about the reason of its outliterating.
