    How would you translate 'socioeconomic background' into Spanish.
    An example sentence might be 'Universities favour applicants from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.'
    Could you say 'Las universidades favorecen solicitantes de experiencia menos privilegiada.'?

    La traducción más o menos políticamente correcta en España sería de "ambientes/entornos desfavorecidos". Puedes añadir "socioeconómicos" pero se entiende. Hay otras muchas posibilidades que varían de país a país o incluso de universidad a universidad para evitar herir susceptibilidades.
