Solventar gastos

Discussion in 'Legal Terminology' started by rodocarax88, Jan 20, 2013.

  1. Hi everybody,

I'm trying to translate this text into English, but I am having a hard time and I could use your help.

    - [...] por este medio me comprometo a solventar los gastos de [...]

My first try would be: I hereby commit to take care of XXXX's expenses.

    Any options?

I don't see anything wrong with your translation.

Depending on the formality of the source document, you might consider "I hereby [agree to/commit to/promise to] [pay/satisfy/cover] expenses incurred by XXXX."

The word "hereby" suggests a certain formality of tone not entirely consonant with "to take care of."
