    Hello everybody, I saw another thread regarding this phrase but it didn't answer my question.
    I understand that we use "Speak of the devil" when we're talking bout somebody, and they show up...
    Now my question is:
    If I mention somebody in a letter, for example, and then i want to continue talking about that specific somebody, can I say "Spaking of the devil, how is he?" Or something like that?
    Thanks for your help!!!

    No, that expression is not used in that case. I'd simply would say "By the way, how is he?"

    Got it! Thanks... may be it wasn't a good example.
    Here's the real text...
    One paragraph ends with "I think money shouldn't be a problem. You said on your letter that Sean got a promotion."
    And I need to start another paragraph speaking about something else, but the same person is involved, for example...
    "________, you cannot let you marriage fall apart! I bet you didn't even talk to him about this.

    May be I can use "Speaking of which"??

    Thanks again!

    De manera muy informal, sí, se lo podría decir de esa forma.

    No, lo puedes decir así. Podrías decir, simplement, "Speaking of Sean, . . ."/"On the subject of Sean, . . . ."

    I agree with onbalance's suggestions. Also, I fixed a little slip in your text. Hope you don't mind.

    Un saludo

    Which = the promotion (una cosa, no una persona)

    Speaking of whom, ...
    whom= Sean (una persona)

    ... Sean. Speaking of the devil .....
    Sean = the devil
