Does anyone know how to say this in French? Is it just 'date de début?

    Thank you

Interesting! I've always heard "Date of issue" in English.

The two (UK) cards I have with me both say "valid from". Maybe this is because they are sometimes issued in advance of the date you can start using them.

Definitely, we always do the card a while/month before customers can use it.
