I would like to express this sentence in English, but I do not know how to do it. Can you help me? The context is:
(...) However, nowadays especially because of the latest incidents that took place in Girona "los cimientos de la monarquía están temblando" more than ever.

I don't know if the sentence is correct but I think you will understand what I am trying to say.
    Thank you
