"Si consiglia l’uso di viti con testa autosvasante"

From a manual on installing flooring.

    Thanks,

    Ciao Cephas!

Ti propongo: "vite con testa autosvasante" = "self drilling countersunk screw".

"Testa svasata" seems to be a more common expression. I'm pretty sure it's the same thing and the translation is "countersunk screw".

PS Crossed with Benzene!:) Is "self-drilling" strictly necessary? I've looked at Google images and there doesn't seem to be any difference.

Yes, it works. Thank you both! Self-drilling seems to render the "auto" part (though where's the "drilling" in the Italian term?). Anyway, I'm going with it.

    Best,

    Peter
