The most common abbreviation for "million"

    What's the most common way of abbreviating e. g. 10 million (be it dollars, tons or years)?
    10 M? 10 mln.? 10 mln? 10 MM? 10 mio?

    The same question about billions.

    Hello Capybar ~ Welcome to the forum:)
    There was a useful thread about this quite recently. If you type the word into Dictionary Look-Up at the top of the page ('English definition') you often find on the definition page that the question has been asked before.
    In my experience (in British English) the usual abbreviation for billion is bn or BN.
