How to say "to catch something on film" in French? I want to thank an unknown photographer for commemorating something beautiful. And it was during the age of film photography.
English: "Thanks to the one who caught this beautiful moment on film." (And the implication is I don't know who that was.)
    My try:

"To capture on film" would probably be a more natural way to express that in English. When I read "to catch on film" I assumed the expression suggested "before it gets transferred to DVD".

    Hello
