Toivo kanssani

    Hello everybody

    I would like to know the meaning of this sentence:

    Toivo kanssani
    Että tämä rakkaus kestää vielä huomiseen
    Kun mennyt on mennyttä
    Jään vangiksi toivoni sirpaleeseen

    My suggestion:

    Hope with me
    That this love will last until tomorrow
    When bygones are bygones
    I'll remain a prisoner in a fragment of my desire

    I myself would change "hope" to "wish" and "desire" to "hope". Especially "desire" sounds a bit wrong to me, it kind of changes the meaning of the last sentence.
    Or, they could both be "hope", as they are both "toivo" in Finnish.
