    Hola a todos:

    Estoy traduciendo un texto técnico del inglés al español sobre tractocamiones y semirremolques. Aparece la palabra "undercarriage" que en aeronáutica significa "tren de aterrizaje". Esto no se puede aplicar aquí porque están hablando de un convertidor dolly. De hecho, se describe al convertidor dolly como: "auxiliary undercarriage assembly".

    ¿Alguna propuesta? Gracias de antemano.

    Hi Josepad,

    Undercarriage is also known as chassis which in Spanish would be chasis.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
    If you can give some context it would help to confirm exactly what they are describing.

    Ritoha,

    Sorry, I had not seen your comment.

    Here is the context:

    "While inspecting the undercarriage of a truck, you notice a crack in the frame that extends from the frame siderail web around the radius and into the bottom flange."

    My translation to Mexican Spanish is the following:

    Al realizar la inspección debajo de un camión, usted advierte una grieta en el chasis que se extiende desde el alma del larguero lateral y circunda el radio hasta la base de la pestaña o patín inferior.

    As you can see I used the following translation:
    undercarriage = debajo.

    I have been advised to use: undercarriage = chasis, but the word "frame" is in the same sentence, and I am translating frame as chasis.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you.
