understand who <is> this conversation addressed to

    Is the following sentence correct?

    " I don't understand who is this conversation addressed to"

    No. It should read, "I don't understand who this conversation is addressed to."

    However, you can make it correct by changing the punctuation:

    "I don't understand. Who is this conversation addressed to?"

    That said, a conversation isn't addressed to anyone. A conversation involves two or more people equally. A statement can be addressed to someone, as can a speech, a request, ...
