Is there an idiomatic meaning to 'andar hii andar chaaT kar' occurring in the following from shahaabnaamah (p.31)? While urdu dictionaries give 'lick' for chaaTnaa, hindi sabdasaagara gives, additionally, खुशामद करना (خوشامد كرنا):
"kashmiirii pandit kii shaan yih hae ki ise kisii daftar kii adnaa se adnaa asaamii par ta3yyunaat kar diyaa ja'e to vuh diimak kii tarH saare 3amle ko andar hii andar chaaT kar uupar vaalii kursii par sar nikaaltaa hae"

    Punjabi, Urdu پنجابی، اردو
    diimak: termite

andar hii andar se chaaTnaa : to eat up/to devour/to consume/destroy from within

    This is the same as

andar hii andar se khaa jaannaa

We also have 'diimak kii tarah chaaT jaanaa" (with no "andar" needed) in Hindi (since you have referred to a Hindi lexicon as well): it again means "to consume, being hidden, something up".
