    How would you translate

For fear that people would just think I was going mad, I didn't tell anyone about these experiences.

    One possibility is like this:
اس ڈر کے مارے کہ لوگ سوچ نہ لیں کہ میں پاگل ہونے جا رہا تھا میں نے کسی کو ان تجربات کے بارے میں نہیں بتایا تھا۔
Transliteration: is Dar ke maare kih log soch nah leN kih maiN paagal (paaGhal!) hone jaa rahaa thaa maiN ne kisii ko in tajribaat ke baare meN nahiiN bataayaa thaa.

marrish SaaHib, I like "Dar ke maare". It is perfect!

For "paagal hone jaa rahaa thaa", I take the meaning "I was going there (deliberately) to become mad"!:)

QP SaaHib, thanks for your acknowledgment.

And I can easily imagine some places when one could go and visit with this purpose!!!:) (and for the sentence my meaning was 'I was on the verge of going mad'.)
