    Hi you all...

I was wondering if any one could help me with the following sentence: "Mi inglés se había vertebrado a través de estancias juveniles en Estados Unidos."

My try: "My English had been molded/acquired? throughout my stay in the US."

Well, I'm frankly at a loss.

    Any suggestions are welcome.

My try: "I had set the grounds of my English throughout my stays in the US".

think the first fits better, structured and language sound awkward.

    The same with vertebrado.

I agree, "vertebrado" sounds really awkward, I would never say it that way.

wrong choice of word indeed. It's unfortunate when that happens, as it does so often.
