    Buenas tardes foreros,

Como se diría lo siguiente en Inglés?

Carlos y María llevan 4 años viviendo en union libre.

Union libre= without having been married either in a church or in a registry

Mi intento: Carlos y María have been living together/ living in free union for 4 years.

    Gracias de antemano.

    Saludos!

To say "free union", even though it's not incorrect, sounds way too literal for me.

I think you could also translate "union libre" as "cohabitating".
