    Galician: Foucellas, Soutomaior, Varela, Gorrión

I am reading a passage about bandits/guerrillas during the Civil War and I was wondering if the names are pseudonyms that actually mean something. At first I assumed they were just names but the 'O' prefix and the fact that 'Gorrión' means 'sparrow' made me think perhaps they were adopted names...

    Galician: Canda di...

Hello! I was translating a song from Galician, and wondered how I can translate Canda ti vou amor. Is it the same as "A tu vez voy, amor." is Spanish, and so "I go at the same time as you, my love"? I saw also a translation saying it means "I go after you, my love".

    Galego: bueno...

    Galician: andar

A question for all the Galician experts: In one book I have (Carballo Calero 1979), andar, the preterite (simple past, pretérito) is given as:andiven andiveches andivo... However, Perez Bouza (1996) and verbix.com give it as being regular:andei andaches andou... Which is right? By analogy...

    Galician: imperfect subjunctive of 'facer'

I would like to confirm with native speakers of Galician what the imperfect subjunctive of facer 'to do, make' is. I have a book (Carballo Calero 1979) that implies it is regular, but verbix.com, which takes its data from a book I can't find anywhere, says it takes the form used in the future...

    Galego: parecer/semellar

Hola pípol: Vouvos facer (co permiso da Vanda!) unha pregunta sobre o galego. ¿Cal é a diferenza de uso entre estes dous verbos (parecer e semellar)? Dixéranme que semellar é algo "máis galego" có parecer, mais que en todo caso, non se utilizarían indistintamente senón que teñen usos...

Hi all, I'm looking for someone who speaks Galego and would be willing to help me translate a beautiful song called "Unha Volta E Un Poema" into either English or Spanish. I won't post all of the lyrics here since I'd probably get booted for it, but here's the 1st verse: Vai unha volta, unha...

    Catalan/Spanish/Galician: Mutual Intelligibility

I'm aware that most Catalan speakers know Spanish, and I would guess that most Galician speakers know the same. I wonder, however, how much trouble would a Catalan or Galician monolingual (they must be old) have understanding Spanish? And more likely, can Castillian Spanish speakers understand...
