I had this question on a test
How long will you stay?

I answered: ¿Cuánto tiempo quedarás?
But the teacher said you had to use the TE

Why is this? Quedarás means will you stay. Why do we need the pronoun TE

Moderator's note
The correct use of accents and punctuation marks is compulsory. Thank you.

This may be an oversimplification, but I think it serves as a good rule of thumb. Use quedar to mean "to be left / to remain" in the sense of not being used up yet, and use quedarse to mean "to stay" in the sense of not leaving.

    Ex.
Me quedan 15 minutos = I have 15 minutes left
Voy a quedarme aquí hasta mañana = I'm going to stay here until tomorrow

As mentioned above, proper use of tildes and punctuation is required in this forum.

    Hi,
Why is this? Quedaras means will you stay. Why do we need the pronoun TE
As already stated above, to stay in the sense of to remain somewhere is rendered as quedarse, always, so the use of the pronoun te is obligatory in your sentence. Please mind using proper spelling, do not capitalize words that must not be capitalized, and remember to use the opening question mark ¿ as well.
