I wonder what is the difference between the two expressions:

- A la limite!
- Au pire des cas !

    It of course depends a lot on context but you might say "if all else fails", "in the worst case scenario", sometimes you can just say "if need be"

    À la limite does not imply the negative idea included in au pire des cas. It simply says pushing the logic to its limit.
    If the logic is to consider the worst case, then and only then, both expressions are equivalent.
