A new business venture was born in Rome on 2 April dedicated to professional training.
    o in alternativa
Dedicated to professional training, a new business venture was born in Rome on 2 April.

Grazie in anticipo.

On April 2nd/the 2nd of April, a business initiative focused on professional training was set in motion/kicked off in Rome.

I would say both are correct only I wouldn't use the word "born", it sounds too grandiose for the context. ...was launched sounds better. Tom's is also good, except for born (in my opinion) and also I believe it's either On April 2nd or On 2 April or On the second of April.
