"The evidence of this proof isn't jumping out at me" is less readily understood in American English, where "evidence" in this sense is more often replaced by "obviousness". I suggest editing as follows: "The evidence [or: obviousness] of this proof isn't jumping out at me."

    Thank you for your message. I have to say that it's a rather unfortunate sentence to have to translate into English. The juxtaposition of 'evidence' and 'proof' making it hard not to think of evidence in the sense of proof rather than the sense of obviousness. Thank you for your suggestion, which certainly helps. I have edited accordingly, and the change will appear online next time the dictionary is updated.
