Hi,

I'd like to know how to say : " être le/la bienvenue" in French please.
I would say : "to be welcome" but it doesn't sound great and I think it's not correct.
Thanks
Alex :)

"Être le bienvenu/Etre bienvenu". They both stick. You can say "la bienvenue/bienvenue" of course.

    "would be welcomed"

A letter I received had this construction in the sense of recommended, advisable:

"..et l'enlèvement des poubelles et bières serait la bienvenue."

Which could be expressed in English as "..and disposing of all rubbish and beer bottles would be welcomed."
