Hi,

Since דַּמֶּשֶׂק is a segholate noun, is it stressed on the second-last syllable (which is the middle syllable here)?

Thanks!

    Hebrew
    Same stress as in Damascus.
I guess it's incidental, Hebrew Damesec is regular segolite development from earlier *Damasc, suffix "us" and the stress as in English are of Latin (or Latinized Greek) influence.
