לנו הנצחון! הגביע הוא שלנו!

Does this mean "Ours is victory! The cup is ours!"? If so, I had two questions:

1. Doesn't לנו mean "for us"? I believe "ours" is שלנו.

2. Why did the author use הוא? Wouldn't הגביע שלנו! have meant the same thing?

The הוא acts here like the English "is".
As you said, it isn't really needed. But in this case, it comes for emphasizing.

לנו (or לו, לה, לי and so on) also has the meaning of "belonging".
The common way is to use של. But in another "style" (more literary, the ל alone is used).

Just a note:
Basically, the word שלנו is based on ש+לנו (and the של is ש+ל).
so, you can see that the meaning of the "belonging" in the word שלנו is actually the לנו part (and the letter ש is the one of secondary importance)

When a football team wins a championship, it is common to hear its fans singing הגביע הוא שלנו with the melody of Glory Glory Halleluiah. The הוא was probably added in order to match the melody.

The other one, ולנו הנצחון, is also from a song of Chanuka.
