Hi,

I need help correcting my translation of the above verses

Context :
موشح: جل من قد صوَّرك

جل من قد صورك // Exalted be He/God who created you
بدر من ماء وطين // Made(????) From water and clay
وجعل في مظهرك // And He made your image
بهجة للناظرين // For delighting of the eyes/spectors

Thank you

    Arabic, PA and IA.
The first line is correct in concept but it's not the literal translation, which made translating the second part difficult.
صوّر literally means "made the image of" (hence the use of the word for "photographed"). The first two lines are saying that God has created your image as a full mood [but made] of water and clay. I don't know if you are aware, but referring to someone as a full moon in Arabic (بدر) is an idiom for saying that he/she is beautiful.

I'm not sure how I would translate it to English, but this is my attempt:
Exalted be He who crated your image --- as a moon made of water and clay
And made your appearance --- a delight for spectators

    Hope this helps

It's clear now. thank you Mahaodeh

    Maybe :
Exalted be He who crated your image --- a beauty made of water and clay
And made your appearance --- a delight for spectators
