Does anyone know what the literal meaning of this word is? It seems to occur in instances of swearing like

  • I couldn't find the word in any dictionary. It's probably a nonsense or jocular word used for swearing. Some people claim it means "أصل" or "سلالة".

Seems that you're hunch was right in that it does occur in instances of swearing. From my research, I found that it is an Egyptian usage. And the example they gave was: يلعن سلسفيلك! Damn your family tree! And it can be either سلسفيل or سنسفيل.

To me, it actually makes sense since salaf سلف means predecessor or ancestor. So سلسفيل likely came from سلف.
