Is there any difference when writing/typing between a همزة الوصل and همزة القطع ?
Native Arabs don't write/type همزة الوصل. It's rarely written. Typewriters didn't have it. The early versions of Windows (which now provides the best support for Arabic) didn't have it as a character. It's not part of the Arabic keyboard. It's not shown here on the alef of الوصل and القطع.
As for همزة القطع, while some say that it should be written/typed in all its occurrences, some don't write it above or below the alef at the beginning of a word:
أنا - انا -- إلى - الى -- إيمان - ايمان
I hope this is what you mean
I was taught that it is considered a spelling mistake to omit همزة القطع whatever its location
Separate names with a comma.
