وشلتهما من النساء وأشباه النساء

    I think it is شلّتهما meaning their group or circle of friends.

    من is the preposition “from” or “of”.

    “… and their gang of women and half-women.”

    was an activ verb ,verbal noun or form IV. my personal idea it is not a verb or this is a form which I currently do not know , the active verb form should presumably be : شبه , يشبه

    this verb ,I know from Turkish language and literature courses means : to be similar (to something) or similarity or act in the conformity of similarity

    external: شلت is known word (in Kurdish) and we use as the coverage cloth of something. But if this word passes in absolutely an arabic speech. then I do not know the validity .

    Ashbaah is the plural if شَبِيه something that is similar to something else but not entirely identical to it. So أشباه النساء means someone who is not entirely a woman, not a real woman. أشباه الرجال persons who only look like men but are not really men (in physique or character).

    Hans Wehr translates it as similar, -like, quasi-, semi-

    The word شِلّة means a group of people (usually friends). I thought it was a colloquial word but I found it in Hans Wehr’s dictionary.
