Please help translating this phrase.
وما أنت أعلم به مني
I noted this phrase in a hadith book of Riyadus Salehin. Text can be found here,
الموسوعة الحديثية

What I can not understand is why أعلم is used instead of تعلم.

  • Hello, أعلم here is not a verb but a comparative adjective; it’s literally something like “…and that which you are more knowing of than me/I.”

I understood almost the same. "...and that you are more knowledgeable than me..."
    here :

is elative /comparative of عليم word (فعيل).

    That would make things worse.

Let me break it down for you:

    وما: and that which
    أنت: you
    أعلم: more knowing
    به: of [it]
    مني: than me/I

    به: of [it]
    مني: than me/I
actually I could easily pair those words, but expected to see that I was doing something well ,but I see it is still insufficient.
This is my last comment under this thread.

    Thank you

You did do something well, you just missed an important part أعلم به and this affected your translation, and this is why Elroy broke down the elements of the sentence to clarify to you which part you missed.
