ويخسف بهذا الجيش

I'm not entirely sure of what is the correct translation here. Here is its context fwiw:

فكانت الرؤى محل تصديق وهوس ولذا بلغ بهم الحال أن آمنوا بسيناريو يبدأ بمبايعة للمهدي - محمد القحطاني - بين الركن والمقام ويعتصم المهدي ومن معه في الحرم ثم يأتي جيش من تبوك ويخسف بهذا الجيش

ويُخْسَف بهذا الجيش
This army will be made to sink [into the ground]/will be swallowed [by the earth]

I'd appreciate if someone would translate the entire sentence into understandable English. Although I know all the Arabic words, I am unable to give an acceptable English rendition no matter what position I place the words.

This is not the proper Hadith, so my guess is that someone is commenting on different interpretations of it. This is my attempt:

… so the visions became in a position of authority and obsession, hence they reached a point where they believed in a scenario that starts with pledging allegiance to Al Mahdi - Mohammed Al Qahtani - between Al Rukn and Al Maqam, then the Mahdi and those with him take refuge in Mecca, then an army comes from Tabook, and it is sunken/swallowed into the earth.
