Dear all,

how to understand: "It isn’t always bingo"?
The context was - sometimes we work very hard but the contract goes to our competitors.

Thanks

Never heard the expression before but I suppose it means that some things are just down to chance...something like that

"!!!!BINGO!!!" = we've got it, hurray, eureka - an exultant cry...

... the kind of thing you shout whenever you hear that you have won the contract.

Being realistic, you can't win them all so, "It isn't always bingo."

Do you know the game BINGO? Sometimes you think you'll gonna win it but it turns out the other way around. If you got it you say BINGO! Life doesn't always go the way we want it to be.
