Hi, what's the purpose and meaning of the し?
イノシシは頭が悪い、クマはのろまだ。ヒョウはおこりっぽい、トラはすぐにいばる。そこで、シカくんなら背が高くてりっぱだ、長生きする。。。

If it helps, a talking fox is telling the deer why he should be the successor the the lion's throne since these other animals have all these negative attributes.

    It's a conjunctive and implies that there are other similar traits that go without saying. It's a bit like "and so forth"

    To be more specific, し specifies that the preceeding clause is one of many reasons. You will encounter sentences of the form AしBしCからD。 Where A, B, and C are reasons, and D is the result.

    If you know what the や particle is, や is to と what し is to から.
