ずつ

How are you doing?

I saw this word in a vocabulary list: ずつ. I looked it up in the dictionary and searched example sentences, but I still don't understand how it's used.

It seems to be some kind of...partitive? The only thing I could understand well (I think) without an explanation is that 少しずつ means "little by little", but other uses still look obscure to me.

I would call it distributive. Have a look at a thread where ずつ has been discussed with some examples.
