では、取り急ぎ

Hello everyone, 皆様、こんにちは。

Someone wrote (in a business context) the following to me at the end of an email:

『では、取り急ぎ。』
Is it the equivalent of "『頑張る!』"?
Or does it mean something like: "I don't have time to deal with it, but I'll resume promptly to it"? 🤔

And is it appropriate to use it to higher ranked personnel or seniors? Is there a polite form of it?

The basic meaning is "this was just a quick note." That is, the writer didn't have (or take) time to write a detailed message. Other possible translations include "that's it in a nutshell" or "that's it for now."

There are polite ways to use this, but they of course depend on the overall context. You could say, for example, "取り急ぎ筆を取ることにしました" or "取り急ぎこの書状でもってお知らせいたします."

I often use at the ends of my snail-mails and e-mails:
取り急ぎ、お願いまで。
or
取り急ぎ、お尋ねまで。
or
取り急ぎ、御連絡・お知らせまで。

Some other people use at mails' ends also this:
