にあって VS にあたり

I think these two phrases are very similar in terms of meaning.

They seem to similarly mean "during", "in time of" or alike.

I wonder if there is any difference between the two to Japanese speakers?

    Here are a couple of 例文 taken from a dictionary, in which the meaning is similar.

    年頭にあたり = at the start of the new year
    多忙な現代にあって = in these busy times
